Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 and professionally referred to as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to be signed with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The first single, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released on Dreamville Records. She began to gain notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 with her release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the internet, including her self release single Bound. On July 21st, 2015, Omen included her in Elephant Eyes the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her sing her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team in the following year because he was hoping for Rihanna to work with her on some references. On December 8 it was revealed that she had officially signed by Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. She also appeared in 2018 in two of her songs with labelmates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. And Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. The music video then released in September. Then on the 9th November, she released another two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Then on the 13th of November, two brand new singles called No One and pedigree. She appeared with Cole in the Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16, and then made the track available as a solo single for the album she released her debut. In February 2019 her music video to this song was released. The track has garnered over three million YouTube views in just a single week. She was part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December the year 2018.
